COMMUNICATIVE INITIATIVE OF THE SPEAKER IN
DIALOGUE

A rivalry for communicative leadership in a dialogue substantially influences on
co-operation between interlocutors and it is constrained with the use of devices
to achieve communicative purposes in a concrete act of intercourse. This is to
mark both in structural organization of the dialogic text and in the choice of
communicative scenario. The problems of the article are reduced to make clear
the specific of the realization of communicative initiative in the intercourse,
to set communicative role parameters it can contain, to describe the
communicative position of the leader in a dialogue and to outline verbal means
marking this position in a dialogue.

EMOTIONAL TUNING IN SPEECH COMMUNICATION

Treated is the problem of cooperative communication in a typical emotional
situation. Proposed is the concept of emotional tuning as the adoptive function
of language. Recommended is the inclusion of theoretical knowledge and practical
experience of emotional tuning into homo sentiens’s communicative competence in
the process of teaching communication. Emotional tuning in speech communication
is considered to be a psycholinguistic phenomenon.

COORDINATING REGULATORY ACTIONS
OF INITIATOR IN DIRECTIVE
DISCOURSE

Initiator’s directive utterances mark regulative activity of communicators in
Chuvash, French and Russian lingua-cultural communities. Initiator’s regulative
actions are used in directive discourse in coming into oral contact and in
expanding a basic dialogue, they function as intending and coordinating units.
Coordinating regulatives are central regulative actions in a basic dialogue not
only in any interaction phase, but also over all interaction.

COGNITIVE-COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH IN MODERN RHETORIC

The second half of the XX-th century was marked by application of linguists to
the cognitive-communicative (functional) aspect of the linguistic system to
extend the scopes of cognition of language nature and to result in appearance of
some new disciplines. Change of a scientific paradigm substantially initiated
attempts to transfer achievements of cognitive-communicative linguistics to
contiguous linguistic areas and to the classic rhetoric too.

PSYCHO-EMOTIONAL STATES

An actual problem for modern linguistics of verbal discourse structures
informing on the mental condition is considered in the article. The linguistic
variant of the content-analysis – cognitive charting for reconstructing frames
and text scripts (Romanov, 2002) is offered by the author. For the research of
discursive behavior features of persons with the exposed types of affect there
was used method of retelling of a text by O. Genri. The use of verbal structures
for the description has allowed to depict a tendency of a combination of affect
forms and verbal structures.

SEMANTIC SPECIFICITY OF MODIFIERS IN PREDICATE
KERNEL OF COMPOSITE PERFORMATIVE STRUCTURES

Performative sign in a performative composite structure is used in an unusual
form and loses the main place of a predicate kernel in the matrix structure.
Semantic description of infinitive part of the predicate in the performative
composite with a modal modifier causes mutual relations of arguments in the
semantic structure. Three groups of modal modifiers are described in the article.

regulative actions which make explicit process of collective realization of

basic frame. There are some kindes of communicative strategies which represent
communicative behavior of partners in the dialogical interaction of defense.

TEXT STRUCTURE ANALYSIS
OF THE AMERICAN STORY OF THE XIX CENTURY

We use a special method of research of the text structure in our article. The
method called Cell-analysis allows to clear up the essence of special idiomatic
units – phraseo-schemes we have allocated in the story by E.A. Poe “The Pit and
the Pendulum”. Given seven functions of phraseo-schemes make these units of text
reality to components of sense actualization in the text.
