It is argued here that the problem domain of translation as meta-textual activity requires new theoretical foundation based on post-classical model-driven methodology. In it, the longstanding truth-approach is considered irrelevant. Instead, the criteria of beauty, elegance, explanatory power, effectiveness are applied to translation versions as complement-related models.

In the article given the problem of the communication efficiency in general, and that of the “author-recipient” dialogue while communication via a piece of fiction, in particular, is revealed. The influence on the communication of the world outlook factor, as one of the non-linguistic factors, is under study. As the socio-linguistic research shows this influence can be implied for those involved in communication as well as deeply established in their consciousness affecting the efficiency of the “author-recipient” communication.

The aim of the study is detection of semantic peculiarities of language units which serve to denote persons’ nominations and form a lexical-phraseological field under the corresponding name in the system of language. The tasks of the given research are connected with contrastive analysis of semantic features of Russian persons’ nominations and their English translations on the levels of micro and macro components of their meaning for the purpose of determination the specific character of their semantics. Differentiation of the types of the translated words and word combinations is performed on the basis of Russian-English contrastive research.
