The article focuses on dynamics of functioning of nominations of the
lexico-cemantic group of looking in French narrative texts (XVII-XX centuries).
In the article the authors turn to the classification of this verbal group in
accordance witn the types of the look direction. The purpose of the research is
to analyze the functional loading on lexico-semantic units of looking during 350
years.
