ID 0421200038\XXX

Keywords: markeme, index of thematic markedness, verb, semantic classification of verbs
Resume: Markeme analysis is a quantitative approach to investigating literary texts. The method consists in examining the text in order to allocate the word forms that satisfy certain criteria. The most significant criterion is the positive Index of thematic markedness. This parameter is a numerical value indicating the role of a word form in a given text. In addition to having positive Index, markemes should belong to notional parts of speech such as nouns, adjectives and verbs.
The following paper deals with verb markemes allocated in texts by A.S. Pushkin. The corpus of his texts is divided into four genre-based groups: social and political journalism, drama, prose, and poetry. Various grammatical parameters of markemes, such as tense, singular and plural forms are taken into account. The markemes from different text groups are classified into semantics-based groups and compared to obtain the full description of Pushkin’s verb markemes.
