THE MAGIC AND THE RATIONAL IN ANGLO-SAXON HEALING
CHARMS
ID: 0421200038\0054
Key words: healing charms, Anglo-Saxon
charms, magic, rational practices, paganism, animism
The article examines the issues of the magic and the rational in the Anglo-Saxon
charms, which are the source that allows us to see the elements of the cultural
and spiritual life of our ancestors. In the charms, both magical practices and
rational actions are observed. Magical actions include repetition of certain
verbal formulas and actions, the use of words incomprehensible in meaning, a
certain timing of the ritual, endowing objects of the material world with
supernatural power. Rational actions are noted in the use of herbs to cure
diseases, in creating remedies. The combination of various practices in charms
demonstrates, on the one hand, animistic belief that a spirit resided in all
nature; on the other hand, it testifies to rational elements in medical practice
as the results of experience and observations of ancient ancestors. From a
culturological point of view these charms unravel the foundations of traditional
medicine, which were laid in the pre-scientific period of the development of
society.

The article discusses the phenomenon of aposterioric derivation, more commonly
known as pseudo-borrowing, in the system of German literary language through
synchronous and diachronous perspectives; the necessity of a holistic (intra-extralinguistic)
approach to the description of posterior derivatives is substantiated, which
allows taking into account their historical, sociolinguistic and
system-functional parameters; a brief description of the heterogeneous segments
of the pseudo-borrowing class in the vocabulary of the specified language is
given.

This article analyzes subtitling as an intersemiotic translation. The article
presents various linguists’ points of view on this problem. Through the analysis
of theoretical material and examples of subtitles from a feature film, the study
found that intersemiotic translation in subtitling is fragmentary, and mostly
the process of subtitling of film discourse is intrasemiotic. A subtitler should
take into account meanings that are generated and represented through the
integration of meanings conveyed by signs which belong to different semiotic
systems in cinematic discourse.

Considered Epstein's interpretation of the problem of text linguistics while
taking into account its white spaces (white spot / text / « »). Analyzed an
extended interpretation of the term "ecology". Attention is drawn to the study
of the ecology of speech, which is also a text. The author emphasizes the place
of culture and emotions in the ecology of all types of text (lists their
nomenclature), points out the varieties of human ecology, its language, its
culture, the text in all its varieties and in all the multiplicities of
communicative environments. Explained the broad expansion of the term "ecology"
into all types of human activity, which is the main goal of this study.
Identified more significant social fields that are associated with ecology, and
partly carried out their language mapping. The article also deals with the
problem of artificial intelligence and its emotionalization and ecoligization,
as well as lists the most significant scientific and technical achievements that
have a huge impact on the natural and human spheres. Given a brief excursion
into the history of the origin and formation of textolinguistics i to contrast
with its modern discoveries and extension. The main tasks of the article are
done with text stories of various lengths accompanied by comments. The
illustrations are taken from the media, fiction, and publisistic modern
literature, including from past eras. Modern school ecology, its methodology and
its didactic texts are not ignored by the author and clarified the ecology of
their meaning and sense of their context. A question raised about ecological
dominant of social society is. Held a brief discussion with some M. M. Epstein’s
principal positions in order to demonstrate an ambiguous approach to his
opinion.

THE CLASSIFICATION OF ECOLOGICAL APPROACHES TOWARDS
LANGUAGE
ID: 0421200038\0062
Key words: lingvoecology, ecolinguistics,
classification, cognitive ecology, aspects of language
The article explores a number of existing typology of linguistic approaches
seeking to extend the idea of ecology to the language domain. All of analyzed
typologies have a common feature ? they all are based on criteria which are
external to the language itself: from the point of view to the function of
language in research and society till the way of applying anthropocentric
principle to view the ecological purpose of language. In the current article, we
do one more attempt to classify the ecological facets in linguistic studies. Our
classification is built on the criterion, which is internal for the phenomenon
of language. I consider ecologically oriented studies in linguistics taking into
account the aspect of language specially focused by researchers. To specify such
aspects I use four-aspects language conception elaborated by Lev Shcherba and
completed later by Alexandra Zalevskaya.

V. in memory of the linguist
The article written in memory of A.L. Faktorovich briefly analyses the creative development of the outstanding scholar. The authors focus on several themes that are significant to understanding the personal preferences and the scientific potential of the conducted research. The authors provide a comprehensive description of the category of ellipsis based on the principle of conceptual integration of grammatical, pragmatic and cognitive factors. The phenomenon of A.L. Faktorovich’s ambivalence is projected on the essential qualities of an ambivalent language personality, navigating between two semantic poles ? discourse stereotypes and creative speech acts. It is pointed out that discourse indicators are either explicitly or implicitly present in most works by A.L. Faktorovich, whose scientific legacy requires attentive research.
